Triple E Framework
The Triple E Framework was designed by Dr. Liz in 2011 and is used to assist educators in gauging how well they are incorporating technology into education for their students, while also providing help on ways to expand the use of technology in teaching and lessons. The goal the Triple E Framework is to confirm that the use of technology in the classroom helps to grow student engagement and enhance learning for the students.
SAMR Model
The SAMR model was designed by Dr. Ruben Puentedura and stands for; substitution, augmentation, modification and redefinition. Substitution allows students to be able to substitute technology into a task with no change to the task. Augmentation allows technology to be substituted in, with useful enhancements. Modification lets technology change the activity but also meaningfully improves it. Finally, redefinition, allows technology to achieve a job that previously was not possible.
Technology Integration Matrix
The Technology Integration Matrix is a framework that was
created off of research from Dr. James Welsh from the Florida Centre for Instructional Technology that incorporates five different elements for increasing learning for students. TIM involves five interdependent characteristics to promote meaningful education; active, collaborative, constructive, authentic and goal directed. These five characteristics are then linked with five levels of technology integration and those are; entry, adoption, adaption, infusion and transformation.
The SAMR Model will definitely be something I implement in my future classroom. I like that it brings technology in on different levels; it can be used for things that we are already doing in the classroom without technology but it guides us to bring technology into areas of learning that were once not achievable and that will really expand the learning opportunities for the students in my classroom.
